Biography
Hi, I’m Jackson/JAX , a portrait and self-portrait photographer with a background in performance and dance. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts NYC in 2019 and was honored to receive the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation Award.
For the past decade, I’ve performed as a drag artist, traveling across the country and internationally. My experience as a dancer and gymnast plays a big role in my photography and video work helping me capture the fluidity, energy, and expression in my subjects. I aim to bring out movement, color, and emotion in every shot.
Whether I’m working with clients or creating my own self-portraits my work celebrates identity, queerness, and personal expression in a way that’s bold, vibrant, and full of life.
I have recently relocated and am now based out of San Francisco, CA.
